Deepika Arun is a passionate educator and advocate for a gadget-free childhood, dedicated to nurturing creativity and meaningful learning experiences for young children. As the founder of Jhoola Activity Centre, located in Nanganallur, Chennai, she has created a haven where children can explore, play, and grow in an environment free from the distractions of screens and gadgets.

In 2016, Deepika founded Jhoola Activity Centre, motivated by her dream of promoting a screen-free childhood. Her vision was to provide a space where children could engage in activities that foster creativity, social skills, and life skills. Under her guidance, Jhoola has become a vibrant community hub, offering a wide range of activities such as arts and crafts, storytelling, nature exploration, team-building games, and life skills workshops.

Deepika’s approach to education emphasizes the importance of experiential learning and hands-on activities. She believes that children learn best when they are encouraged to explore their interests and express themselves freely. Her dedication to creating a balanced relationship with technology reflects her understanding of the modern challenges faced by children and parents alike.

Deepika's journey began with a strong academic background, completing her B.Tech (Hons) in BioEngineering from SASTRA University, Thanjavur. Despite a successful start in the corporate world with TCS, she realized her true calling lay in education and working with children. Driven by her passion for teaching and a desire to spend quality time with children, she transitioned to a career as a primary school teacher. This experience laid the foundation for her understanding of the unique needs of young learners and the importance of a nurturing educational environment.
